Her vast experience and passion for the nonprofit sector led many camp women to connect with Lynne as a resource. So, this year Lynne is presenting a session on philanthropy, volunteerism, working in a nonprofit and starting a nonprofit.

Rene Marie: Marrying Yourself—The Ultimate Commitment
Success Skills
Friday, September 19th, 9:00 am - 10:30 am
www.renemarie.com
I was born into a family of 9 in a very small town in Virginia. Music played a pivotal role in my life from the very beginning. It was at home that I learned the value of telling the story behind the music and how powerfully that story can move the listener and impact one's life. I learned how vital it is to convey emotion in the music by watching my father’s facial expressions and body language when he listened to music.
At the age of 18 my boyfriend and I joined a very strict religious group, got married and stopped performing in public - for good, it seemed. Four years later, I was a mother of two sons and found myself inculcating in them a love for music the same way my father had with me – by example.
In January 1996 I was 41 and working full-time at a bank when my oldest son convinced me to start singing again. Between 2000 and 2004, I recorded four CDs on the MaxJazz label and have won several awards, both domestic and international, for those recordings.
Next I decided to slow things down and work on a one-woman show. In 2007, I released "Experiment In Truth".
I have never forgotten the early lessons learned about the power of music. Today, I try to imbue that feeling of emotion into every song I write – every song I sing – every time. I am very happy to be singing today.

Dr. Dianne Stone
Optimal Health: Mind, Body and Spirit
Friday, September 19th 9:00 am - 10:30 am
www.drdiannestone.com
In her mid-40’s, after marrying and becoming the stepmother of three teenagers, Dianne decided to leave the thriving OB-Gyn practice she had founded in 1991. After 15 years of the joyful but hectic and stressful life of delivering babies, she began to feel the longing for the intimacy and simplicity of a solo gynecologic practice dedicated to her passion—the care of the midlife woman.
Dianne was born and raised in Denver, graduating from C.U. in 1979. She completed medical school and did her residency training in OB-Gyn here in Denver. She started her own OB-Gyn practice in 1991 which flourished and eventually grew to a busy four-physician practice. After marrying in 2000 and becoming the stepmother of three teenagers, Dianne began to long for the intimacy of solo practice. In 2001 she opened her new solo gynecologic practice, Dianne C. Stone, MD PC.
Dianne’s practice focuses on her passion—mid-life health and wellness. She has received additional training in menopause, osteoporosis, female sexuality, cholesterol management and incontinence and is a certified menopause practitioner thru the North American Menopause Society. She has studied with a medical herbalist to help her patients who desire an alternative approach. She specializes in holistic care of the midlife transition.

Dr. Deb Kern: Finding Calm Amidst the Chaos: Creating a Sustainable Life
Optimal Health: Mind, Body and Spirit
Friday, September 19th, 10:45 am - 12:15 pm
www.DeborahKern.com
Dr. Deborah Kern is a health scientist who dares people to live in harmony with the wisdom of their bodies. This conviction was inspired by her pioneering research showing that mind/body integrated approaches to exercise are more effective at reducing anxiety than conventional approaches to exercise.
This discovery stimulated Dr. Kern to go deeper. Her search has included studying and practicing:
Herbal medicine while living with indigenous women in the rainforest of Costa Rica
- Yogic lifestyle while living on an ashram
- Nia -- a cardiovascular exercise that blends movements from the martial arts, dance, body integration therapies and yoga
- Ayurveda – the ancient healing system from India
- Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy – a body mind therapy
- Exotic Dance for Everyday Women
An internationally acclaimed speaker, Dr. Kern is also the author of “Everyday Wellness for Women” and co-author of “Create the Body Your Soul Desires: The Friendship Solution to Weight, Energy and Sexuality" Her years of practice as a nurse, health educator, personal trainer, yoga and Nia teacher and yoga therapist have given her lifestyle insights not found in books. She has become very aware that when people live their lives disconnected from their bodies’ messages, they not only miss out on the wisdom of their bodies and opportunities to heal emotional issues, but they are also more likely to experience stress and dis-ease instead of pleasure and joy. When they pay attention to body wisdom and continue to seek pleasure, "miraculous" changes can occur.
As a health scientist, speaker, author, mother and wife, Dr. Kern is passionate about creating health, balance, serenity and joy in her own life while assisting individuals and organizations to do the same in theirs. Dr. Kern studied Nursing at Vanderbilt University and received a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin. She received a Ph.D. in Health Sciences from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. She is a Black Belt Nia Teacher, certified Integral Hatha Yoga Instructor, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist and Mindful Change Coach.
