In today’s economy, the opportunities for hard-working families to become financially stable and provide a better future for their children are becoming increasingly limited. One in five Colorado households lacks the income to cover their most basic living expenses.

Mile High United Way’s Adult Self Sufficiency Initiative is succeeding in moving individuals and families toward economic independence.

We invest in programs that make that success possible:

• United Way 2-1-1 - with one free call, hundreds of thousands of people each year are connected to vital human services in our community.
• Learn Community Partnership - provides eligible individuals with scholarships for licensure, certification, associates and bachelor’s degrees to build their job skills and increase their earning potential.
Individual Development Accounts - provides matched savings accounts for hard-working individuals and families to help them save for college, a down payment on a home or to start a small business.
Pathway Scholarships - provides money to supplement grants and helps eligible college bound minority students pay for fees, books, materials and even childcare when necessary.
Denver’s Road Home - Mile High United Way partners with the City and County of Denver on the Mayor’s 10-year plan to end homelessness, create housing and provide employment assistance
