Denver Rescue Mission's Greatest Holiday Needs
Adopt a Family: Denver Rescue Mission is celebrating its
seventeenth Christmas outreach to needy families. Together we
can make this a special holiday for children and their families in
the Denver Metro Area. We match willing sponsors to needy
families to provide a Christmas holiday food box and gifts.
∙ Christmas Toys: We distribute thousands of toys to needy children in our program and the local area. We need any new or gently used toys, especially for older kids ages 13-18. Great toy options are gift cards, books, sports equipment, etc. Drop off at * Lawrence Street Shelter (1130 Park Ave. West Denver, CO 80225), * Ministry Outreach Center: 3501 E. 46th Ave. (exit 276A Vasquez/Steele off I-70), Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm * The Crossing: 6090 Smith Rd. (between Holly and Monaco on Smith), Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
∙ Turkeys: We need turkeys for a Thanksgiving Banquet in a Box. We distribute these food boxes to needy families. Drop off anytime at Lawrence Street Shelter (1130 Park Ave. West Denver, CO 80225)
∙ Children’s Christmas Party: A party on December 12th for 200 3-6 year olds from daycares in the community. The children receive a stocking, meet Santa and sing Christmas Carols. Any gifts or small items for the children would be greatly appreciated, but there must enough for all 200 children. Teddy bears are already being donated.
